Finally, we have wrapped up the playroom!  I'm so glad to have this space together and ready for the girls to use before baby's arrival.  The nursery has turned into an impromptu playspace of sorts, and I think they are going to miss it, but I think with a fun place they can have all to themselves downstairs they will be ok with the change. (How fun is that Cat Cone Print?)

I am pretty much smitten over these rugs.  They really make the space.  I tried to keep things pretty simple, letting the colorful rugs add most of the pattern to the room.  My dad constructed that cute little house frame for me; I keep some blankets on hand to throw over it for a quick fort, and the girls love it (especially when it involves a couple of flashlights!).  It's nice because Vivi gets really frustrated if I can't build one just right elsewhere in the house, so this was my strategy to be able to quickly make an awesome fort, and so far it is working.

It was also fun to put together a comfy space where I can sit.  A friend of mine gave me that awesome vintage coral-y pink chair (it was her grandmother's!) and it will be perfect for nursing or rocking baby sister, and I have a couple of little drawers in that adorable nightstand to stash a few necessities for me.

I also recruited my dad to help me make some adorable little legs for the play kitchen, as it has become too short.  This added about 6" in height, which is perfect, and has renewed the girls' interest in it once again.  It's now the favorite!

I also love that walnut bookcase!  It's the best little storage piece, and in perfect reach of littles, so they can put things away easily and neatly.

The girls also love that easel.  It's super inexpensive and does the trick for a special art space.

That extracurricular play table is also ideal for crafting or tea parties, and the mint bookcase makes for excellent, easy to reach storage as well!

We also painted the stairs and stairwell a bright turquoise, and it helped so much to brighten the space.  It also doesn't feel as much like you are walking down into a cave!  I'm crazy about the blue stairs.
