baby #3 is on the way!

baby announcement

I posted this on instagram yesterday afternoon, so you may have already seen it, but we are expecting baby #3 due December 13th!  We are very excited, although I always find it a bit surreal those first few months of pregnancy, and maybe a bit hard to grasp.  It's just hard to believe there is an entirely new little person who will become a part of our family! (shirt from here).  Vivi is really excited, and sweet little Brigie has no idea what is about to rock her world.

Things have gone well so far; I for whatever reason develop the insatiable appetite of a 12 year old boy for the first trimester, and it's like I have to eat all the time, or I find myself feeling sick.  Unfortunately, I don't also develop the metabolism to complement it, but I realize this is much better than actually being sick.  I have also been much more tired this time around (wonder why, ha!) and I am finally coming out of the slump here at 16 weeks.  I always feel a bit un-focused and un-creative those first few months/weeks, so thus what I feel has been somewhat of a lack of projects going on.

At any rate, we are so grateful.  I feel like the older I get, the more I see that ending up with a baby in your arms at the end of all of this is truly a miracle.  We have seen a lot of heartache experienced by friends and others close to us, and I wish I had the right words to say about all the mixture of feelings going on in my heart about it all.  We celebrate each little milestone reached, and are so thankful for a healthy journey thus far.

On another note, I have been approached by two separate people (that I don't know!) this week, asking me if I know yet what the baby's gender will be, which has completely shocked me.  I feel like I just look chubby (that first trimester appetite is showing up!) and I have always thought it an unwritten rule that you pretty much never volunteer to a woman that you think she might be expecting.  Anyway, we do plan to find out what we are having!  I just have to know.  We'll be excited either way - the sister thing is so fun, and I have kind of fallen in love with pink, but a boy would be a fun and new (although somewhat scary, perhaps) adventure!
