baby nursery inspiration

We are heading to the beach next week, and I’m trying to figure out all the necessities for keeping Vivi cool and protected in the sun.  I bought her suit number 2 (it’s so cute!), but after looking around some more, there are some great options available now that are also on sale!  In fact, I’d love some of the above items for myself.  That swim cap and cover-up are just darling.  Do you have any tips or tricks for how to keep a seven month old cool and entertained while in the sun?  I’d love to hear!

You can find teeny tiny blow up pools for babies. I recommend one of those with just a few inches of water. Easy to fill and transport. BTW, we have #6 and it’s adorable!

I absolutely love your blog! And now I love all of these swim suits!
We just found out that we are having ababy girl this fall, and cannot even wait!
Have fun at the beach- I will be reading below as well for answers for next years trip to the beach!

super cute! love love love the swim cap (as I love just about any hat).  be sure to check out the swimsuits from iplay  or from kushies as i found they have great built in swim diapers that help for public pools.  the iplay hats also have really wide brims to keep the babe cool and covered.  our pretty much entertains herself but a good old fashioned rubber ducky from time to time spices things up.

I take a bouncy seat.  We also rent chairs and an umbrella so we don’t have to haul everything down to the beach.

Where is swimsuit #9 from? I am in love with it and I have a 6 month old baby girl that needs this suit! After all, she is a Phoenix baby and it’s swimming weather 10 out of the 12 months so I have a feeling we will be going thru lots of suits.
    Thanks,
    Heidi

Hi Heidi!  Here is the link to #9: http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=511980&CategoryID=10118.  The links are to the right of the post, in the pink margin bar.  Hope that helps!!  That one is so adorable.

Love these suits! We live at the beach and never go to the water w/o a beach umbrella.

hey joni! cute post as usual! =) hoping to snag a cute suit for our 5 month old in a few months when she will be sitting up and able to enjoy the water! i don’t know if you have found a good sun block yet, but we have used few different chemical free ones, and have landed on california baby for ease of buying (available in target or whole foods) and best price point (other brands had to be ordered online or through a dermatologist). have fun at the beach!

We borrowed a beach umbrella for our girls’ trip last week that came from Sam’s…it was perfect! For our trip with T in September, we have one of those small baby pop-up tents that folds up super small…I’ve also been told the idea about the small inflatable baby pool. Just remember to let her get a little sun! My pediatrician told me that kids who are allowed a little vitamin D from the sun actually do better than the ones we cover up with rash cards, hats, SPF, umbrellas and tents. Oh, and I recently read a review on sunscreen, and Target brand ranked higher than most! Hope y’all have fun…send pics. :)

Hey Joni!  Quick tip: baby powder removes all traces of sand off of you!  I took a small bottle down to the beach last time we went, and Biz looked like a snow baby when she was done!  Ha!  Also–keep her diaper changed and dry if she is wearing a swim one.  Yeast infections are so common in this age.

And please let me say that you make me want to redo my nursery every time I click on your blog.  You truly have been blessed with a gift, girl!!!!

You might want to do cornstarch powder instead.  It absorbs moisture….I found this trick out a few summers ago and love it!!!  But last year I mistakenly bought regular baby powder and it just caked on to the water beads.  Cornstarch powder is what really worked for us!  :)

that swim cap is TOO cute for words. Oh my goodness, if I ever have a daughter the buying temptations will NEVER end.
