Last weekend, I was so excited to have the Land of Nod Tour Bus make a little stop in our backyard for a playdate.  We invited over a bunch of friends, and had a great time enjoying the springtime.  (And thanks so much to my talented friend Alea Moore for taking these beautiful photos!) 

The Land of Nod just launched their adorable Little Golden Books collection, and to celebrate, they have decked out their Tour Bus with a similar feel, making stops in various cities this spring.  They are selling a collection of Little Golden Books from the bus in collaboration with Milk + Bookies, an organization that gives books to children in need.  To coordinate with the theme, we had some milk and cookies to snack on, and made some plywood cutouts of milk and cookies just to make it extra fun.

They even brought along a collection of Nod toys, rugs, poufs, and dress ups, which the kids loved.  It was the cutest to watch them play, and then the Nod team had a little story time, and the kids all curled up on the rugs and poufs in their capes and masks and listened with rapt attention.  Such a fun idea for a party!

Our Nod friends also brought some crafts, so there was a group of kiddos making pom poms in the playhouse, and others sprawled out on the rugs coloring bookmarks.

This made for such a fun afternoon, and I loved these sweet and simple ideas for a memorable little party.  A few special snacks, some dress up capes, pulling some favorite toys outdoors to make them feel new & special, and a little story time and simple craft making were a great recipe for a springtime celebration.

And, I still can't get over just how cute that bus is!  It was so fun walking up to pick out a couple of books to add to the library.
