A few favorites from the first few weeks of life with baby:

(1) Some of you asked what kind of mobiles are in Vivi's nursery.  They are blabla, and there are a whole assortment of colors and characters available.  The mobiles are so cuddly looking, and you can spin them so the animals kind of "dance" and Vivi loves to watch them!

(2) Bubble Socks.  These are the only socks I have found that will fit and stay on Vivi's long, but very skinny, little newborn feet.  She still can't seem to keep anything else on at 2 months.

(3) Kimono tops.  It is not easy to get onesies over a newborn's head, and it seems to be especially difficult for daddies who haven't had much experience in dressing babies (not that I'm an expert - but I have done it before!).  These kimono tops make it so much easier and less painful to get baby dressed, and I absolutely love the colors and patterns offered by Zutano.

(4) Knit baby hats from Etsy.  I bought two bunny hats for Vivi, and planned for her to wear one home from the hospital, but she ended up wearing them our entire stay there.  Since then, they seem to be the only hats that stay snugly on her little head, and I think they are so fun!

(5) Method baby soap and lotion.  I *love* how this stuff smells like marshmellows!

(6) Modern Family.  Right after getting home from the hospital, it felt a little like life was out of control.  Chip had Modern Family on order from Netflix, and watching an episode or two snuggled up with him on the couch in between feeding baby made me forget about how I was feeling or how I hadn't slept and it was like a sweet moment of almost being normal.  Not to mention it made me laugh, which always makes me feel better.

(7) SwaddleMe.  Chip and I tried and tried, with several different kinds of blankets, to swaddle baby just like they did in the hospital where she seemed so happy and snug.  After several late nights of frustration trying to get her wrapped up tightly, we finally tried these and they did the trick.  They were a little large at first, so I wrapped Vivi's legs up in a small receiving blanket before putting on the SwaddleMe to make it extra cozy.

I won't pretend I have anything really figured out yet - these are just a few things that helped us make it through the first few crazy weeks with a newborn!  Happy Friday!
