little journeys baby food
Ellie has been on solids now for a little while, and this transition always seems to throw me for a loop. It's like I finally get into a good routine with the baby, and then all of the sudden it's time to start trying solids. I usually wait as long as I can - until five and a half or six months - but it still seems to leave me scrambling to adjust naps and outings to make it work. It has been even more challenging with the third, as we are often on the go, taking big sisters places and running errands, and feeding a baby on the go isn't always the easiest job.
It's also a challenge with traveling, and we have been on the road quite a bit this summer. My sister had a baby, my cousin got married, and we have been visiting grandparents (I especially love going to my parents' when Chip is out of town for some extra hands and love!) and it's not always easy to have meals planned for Ellie. She is starting to want to feed herself more, but she can't exactly eat just anything.
I love making baby food for Ellie when I can, but that's not always practical, and I also love to feed her fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. We have been trying out the Aldi Little Journey organic pouches, and they have come in so handy on our travels and also at home when I don't have a chance to prepare anything. With a great assortment of organic fruits and vegetables, it has been a great way to keep Ellie fed and happy (and also, her big sister Brigette loves them, too - the apple banana raspberry is her favorite - which is awesome, because it's not always easy to get that one to eat as many veggies!). If we stop for lunch on the road, or go out to dine, I use my handy pouch spoon, which makes feeding a breeze (seriously, I love that thing!)!
The yogurt bites are also a favorite (I have to just about hide them from the big sisters) and work great to keep Ellie content while I cook or for those last 30 minutes of a very long car ride! They are available in three flavors: blueberry, banana, and strawberry.
The organic pouches are also only $0.79, which is less than half of what I usually spend on baby food pouches! It's so easy to stock up for a long trip, and not have to worry about making sure there is something she can eat while we travel.
