Recently, I posted on the Lay Baby Lay Facebook wall about Mwana blankets and Brooke emailed asking if I'd like to do a giveaway for one of the sweet and cuddly blankets she creates.  I was more than happy to say yes, and what perfect timing with Christmas around the corner!  She chooses the sweetest fabrics, and the blankets are backed with fleece, complete with a hand sewn appliqué of Africa on the back as a reminder of what the blanket represents.  For every blanket (or tshirt - I just bought one!) purchased, another will be hand delivered to the village of Mgyawi in Malawi, Africa to keep a child warm.  Did you know the temperature drops into the 30s there at night, and these babies and children have nothing to protect them from the cold, other than dirt walls?   Brooke has received 50 blanket donations so far and is hoping to reach 250 by May 2012 to meet the needs of this specific village.  I have a feeling she will blow that number out of the water, though!  If you want to enter the giveaway for the sweet yellow and red blanket above, just leave a comment here, and keep Mwana in mind as you work on Christmas shopping!
