my nursery revisited

Today's board is a tribute to my childhood room.  My mother, being the sweet but no frills and uncomplicated person that she is, decorated my room in bright, bold colors, creating an imaginative space that I loved.  The carpet was dark green, the curtains were vibrant orange with yellow piping, and above the bed (complete with Charlie Brown bedspread and, it appears, Care Bear sheet set) was a quilted rainbow.  The walls were a happy yellow, and I think all that color might have contributed to my current love for using paint to brighten up any space.  Above is my attempt to re-create a board for a nursery/child's room in the same palette with more of a shiny regency feel.  I searched and searched, but have yet to find any rainbow art that is very interesting, so I thought the brightly colored carnival photos pictured above would make such a pretty statement grouped together in gilded frames.  The above board and palette would even look great in a room with white walls, if you are unable to paint your space!  Stay posted tomorrow for a peek into the nursery of one of my oldest and dearest friends!
