Lindsay from Darling Clementine was kind enough to let Lay Baby Lay select six picks from her shop to feature for March.  Above are the items that I chose (although it was so hard to choose from all the cuteness – including books and clothes!).  I just ordered the hair clip and can’t wait to put it in Vivi’s hair.  What is even better is she is offering 10% off if you enter “laybabylay” upon checkout!  (She also posted an interview on her tumblr - scroll down a little to find it – if you want to read a little more about Lay Baby Lay).  Thanks so much, Lindsay!

elephant neutral baby room ideas

Ankita emailed asking for ideas around a “royal indian” theme focusing on the elephants.  I thought that sounded like a lovely idea, and found the above vintage India travel posters to be particularly inspiring.  If the dark walls seem too dramatic, a bright aqua or even green would be pretty, and the classic colors keep it neutral, but you could easily tweak the reds to be more pink for a girls’ room.  That dresser is quite expensive, but I love the heavy glossy finish; Benjamin Moore’s red tulip has a touch of pink to it, which would add a lot of punch to the room should you have an old dresser that needs a facelift.

Just a little slice of life.  I recently bought that whale spout cover, and I love it.  I have been meaning to get it for awhile now, but I’m sure you know how that goes.  Things can stay on my list for weeks.  I relax so much more at bath time now, though, because I don’t have to worry about Vivi getting a scrape from the spout.  Baths are definitely one of her most beloved activities at the moment.  Do you have any favorite bath toys for your toddler?  Our collection consists of a plastic boat, a foam book, a cup, and a duck.  Vivi loves the book, but I’d like to find a couple more interesting things for the tub.  Please comment if you have ideas!

A couple of other things for the weekend:

(1) Thanks to Seed Factory for the post today.  Don’t forget about the event next weekend if you will be in town!  I would love to meet some of you, and the shop is too cute to miss if you haven’t been there yet!

(2) Check out Lay Baby Lay’s picks for adorable online boutique Darling Clementine, which is full of excellently curated baby items.  More on that later!

Happy Friday!

peach green gold baby girl room ideas

That gold dresser?  Yes, please.  And I’ll take those starbursts, too!  (If you are feeling brave, here is a tutorial on how to make them yourself, since it would be quite pricey to purchase a collection of them.)

And, p.s., thank you to the doll (whoever you are) who nominated Lay Baby Lay for the Apartment Therapy Homies.  I’m truly thankful that someone thinks LBL is the best of the best.  Feel free to cast a vote if you wish, or at least check out the other blogs on the list for more home inspiration!

baby boy room steve mcqueen inspirationBy far the most frequently visited style board on Lay Baby Lay is the Steve McQueen vintage.  Considering some of the links are now out of date, I thought it was time to revisit it (I know, two car boards in one week!).  If you want something less dramatic, a light blue or aqua paint color would look great as well.  I love that Great Escape poster – sort of reminds me of vintage G.I. Joe.
