My sweet and beautiful friend Lauren reached out to me last week as she had plans to team up with Draper James to celebrate National Brunch Day, which Reese Witherspoon and her team have declared is today, June 18th.  It seems there is a day for everything, so why not brunch?  I'm always up for a chance to hang out with girlfriends and make a day special (and also love Reese!), so I worked with her to put together a simple and fun little morning "day off" having brunch with some of our other mama friends.

I prepped it up a bit to coordinate with the classic gingham pattern, and we hired a sitter and invited over two of our friends and we enjoyed a couple of hours kid free, with yummy treats and rare time catching up without interruption.  I may have to start doing this regularly; it really wasn't too hard to get a sitter, and it was so worth it to have fun with friends!

Also, I'm in love with that gold flatware (it's $80 for a set of four five piece place settings!) and those tapers add so much to the table!

Lauren is always so polished and put together; and it was fun to get some first hand styling help from her.  Sometimes it's hard as a busy mom to find time to focus on myself, and it was nice to take a minute to do that.  She even loaned me some of her heels (I don't wear them much these days!) and it was fun to remember that I don't always have to wear clothes/shoes/things that are practical for toting a cute baby around.  It's good to be reminded that while we are moms, we are also women and it's good to remember who we are as individuals, too!
