Nursery Decor & Baby Room Ideas

children's art Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!  I have received several requests for wooden prints, so I’m going to do a limited, one week sale (until this Friday, July 25th) of wooden prints and canvas banners.  I’m going to offer the singing animals pair (pictured above, and other print is pictured here).  They are printed on 1/2″ birch panels, with wood trim frame, and are ready to hang.  Each panel is 18″ x 24″ and for the pair, it is $400.  I’m also offering the be brave and courageous or Psalm 1:3  or the Circus Bear in pink as a hanging canvas print (size is approximately 25″ x 40″) as shown below.  Each wall hanging will have 1″ wooden dowels in stitched pole pockets with a suede cord on the top, ready to hang for $175.  If you are interested, just email me (joni {at} laybabylay.com) and I’ll send you a paypal invoice, and you will receive your print by August 15th! be brave wall hanging

ballerina pig(A new little print in my society6 shop!)  Goodness, I apologize for my absence.  I’ve literally had my hands dirty for the past week, working hard on our playhouse project.  We are getting very close to done, and I can’t wait to share it with you!  The past few weeks have been that way; having my hands in lots of projects that I’ll be sharing soon.

I’m also excited to begin sharing some of my collaboration with the Land of Nod on their fall catalog; I was thrilled to get to work with them on some inspiration boards which their team brought to life and photographed.  So fun!  Such a dream to get to work with their company, as I’m a big fan of their collections.  I love how all the rooms came together, and I’ll be sharing them over at Honest to Nod.  The first one was posted yesterday: Baby Bear.  I really love the colors in it, and I think you’ll be inspired – go check it out!

be brave art

Recently, I had the awesome opportunity to work on a nursery with a friend and the Land of Nod (can’t wait to share more!) and it was such a good experience.  It was honestly a reminder of why I do what I do here.  It is easy to lose focus after you do something for awhile, to forget why it is meaningful, especially in this world that can become so over-commercialized.  I started this blog to serve as inspiration and encouragement to new (or newer) mamas in this rewarding, joyous, but also challenging journey.  Our homes are the places where so much learning, loving, and living happens, and it’s valuable to make it a welcoming and happy place.  It’s a good thing to put on our walls reminders of our heritage, our standards, and what is important to us as a family.

Keri has three precious little ones, and has had a bit of a crazy year, full of blessings but also unexpected difficulty.  She wrote me the kindest thank you note, saying of the banner (above) that is now hanging above Timothy’s crib that “each day I pull my most precious son from his crib, I will remember to be a brave and courageous mama . . .” and that is exactly what this is all about.

So, I just wanted to let you know I’ve added it to my society6 shop here – some of you were interested after I posted it on instagram, so I wanted to make it available.  The words are from Psalm 27:14.  May we all be brave and courageous mamas as we shepherd our little ones and watch our families grow, and may our little ones grow to be brave and courageous, too!
